Pollen is known by the Native people of our land as Hodentin. Hodentin is revered as a most sacred substance used in ceremony and ritual. This element carries forth across the winds yielding an abundance of flowers, trees, and plants. Bees dance with pollen in order to entrust the continuation of our planet’s ecosystem that is sensitive and, thus far, enduring.
Pollen Press Publishing is a birthing small independent publisher that welcomes words that have been woven into narratives that are meant to be carried across the element of air, embedded into the earth, fueled by fire, and immersed into waters evoking emotion. The rhythmic pulsation of the writer’s heart beat is integral to the passion of knowing. This knowledge corresponds with diligent use of the writing implement whereby creating excellence in the manifestation of that concept.
Our mission is to convey stories that share knowledge that until now may have been only experienced in the form of oral traditions, true urban legends, stories shared by our mothers that were never told outside of their kitchens, and tales that evoke the power of truth and honor that resonate with spirit. We care to especially publish the voices and history of women of color but also to the like-minded who walk alongside of them, in this time and place, who honor the richness and depth of all creation on this planet.
